March 17th saw three "2 Fat Boys Racing" entries in the Thunder Truck event at Charlotte Motor Sports Park. Brad St.John driving the #34, Jason Bullard in the #3, and rookie James Bullard in the #11.
Jason finished 2nd, Brad St.John finished 3rd, and James Bullard finished 5th.
Brad wound up with a DQ in Tech. A stock aluminum intake on a 305, was indicated as being non-rule compliant. 2 Fat Boys Racing will comply and add the cast iron intake required at Charlotte.
As always we thank FanciWork Embroidery and Arcadia Pawn for their sponsorship.
Additionally we want to thank David Morr for all the help in the trucks.
Next week we'll see racing on both Saturday and Sunday. The 2 Fat Boys Thunder Trucks will be out Saturday night at Charlotte and the Cadet KART of rookie 8yoa Steven Mays will make it's maiden run at the IMA sponsored race on Sunday [March 25th]
March 24th saw three "2 Fat Boys Racing" entries in the Thunder Truck event at Charlotte Motor Sports Park. Brad St.John driving the #34, Jason Bullard in the #11, and David Morr Jr. in the #3.
Brad finished 3rd again with no problems in tech. 4th was David Morr Jr. in the #3 truck and Jason Bullard took 5th in the #11.
March 25 saw Steven Mays in an IMA Kart event at the Charlotte County Motor Sports Park. Steven finished 2nd in the Cadet class. Thanks to all those supporting the IMA event and of course all of Steven's sponsors.
Next weekend is an off weekend for 2 Fat Boys Racing; a little time to take care of some needed cosmetics and a little rest.
March 31st was an off weekend for the thunder trucks, at least we took it off as CCMSP changed the schedule and we failed to check the website. Oh well, we all needed the break.
As it stands right now the Thunder Trucks have another break this coming weekend (April 7th), and we have to thank the CCMP for updating their website to ensure we notice the schedule.
Steven is due to race next on April 22nd if his attitude and grades remain positive. He had a couple of great practices on April 3rd and 4th. Sebastian is awesome with Steven and Doug really put together a great Kart, even though we had to add 62lbs of weight to comply with the WKA rules. A big thank you as always to IMA.
We are also hoping for more positive transactions, in that that Robert will be able to return to the seat of the #3 at Charlotte soon. Also we are exploring running the thunder trucks at DeSoto Speedway in Bradenton.
Keep checking in on us; also if you'd like to have racing apparel from the 2 Fat Boys, check out http://www.fanciworkembroidery.com . They'll help you out!
As always we thank FanciWork Embroidery, Arcadia Pawn, Fullerton Sod and GHC Construction for their sponsorship.
April 7th saw the 2 Fat Boy Teams away from the track. Good to take time for family.
April 14th the team is going to take another weekend off from the track but not the garage. Looking setup for slicks and a practice at DeSoto on the 19th.
The KART is due to be practiced by Steven on the 18th getting ready for another I.M.A. sponsored race on the 22nd. Steven decided to change his KART number to "34"; needless to say Dad was proud. Look for new pics of the 34 Kart soon.
April 21st saw the #11 2 Fat Boy Team truck co-owned and driven by James Bullard at Charlotte. James had tranny problems, tough night for a single 2FBR truck in what's been called an "aggressive" division at Charlotte.
April 22nd Steven Mays made his second appearance in the I.M.A. Sprint races, at Charlotte County Motor Sports Park. Steven ran a consecutive second in both of his heat races and the main. Second in his first time out and second this time; hard work and a little talent?
Looks like DeSoto is a no go for 2FBR. Seems the division we would run in deems automatic transmissions as part of the rules. A lot of work it would be to change the trucks over for us, all though we do appreciate the offer to come over to DeSoto and run; but for no pay or entry return if running our standard transmissions.
Friday night April 27th we're going to take the trucks down to Charlotte for a little practice. Some of us are lacking a lot of seat time. Might yap at "Just Jason" and might even have a guest from I.M.A. come down and take a spin in the #34 Thunder Truck.
April 28th the trucks will be back at Charlotte, y'all be sure to come cheer us on! One of us is still considering taking a spin in the I.M.A. Karts scheduled to race again the 28th. Guess ya never know.....
was a great practice night for the #3 and #34 Thunder trucks at Charlotte. Great to see Robert back in the seat with a new perspective on racing. Trucks were handling great. Now we need to seek a primary sponsor for some motors - Got a lot of room on the hoods of them full size trucks and web space!
After practice it was back to the shop where the #11 truck was attended to and made race ready for Saturday.
April 28th saw all three Thunder trucks back at Charlotte, with Brad St. John prepared to take the wheel of the #3. Good draw on staring too, with the #11 on the pole, the #3 starting fifth and the #34 to start sixth. However, with the big night of racing at Charlotte which prior to the start of the races already had cancelled the I.M.A. Karts, cancelled the SS class and the thunder trucks due to the 11:30PM curfew. Oh well, that's racing!
Also noted about the track was the addition of track security involving the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. Interesting and a positive move.
All 2FBR units are off the May 5th weekend. The thunder trucks (all three of them hopefully) will run next at Charlotte on May 12th. The #34 Cadet Kart is scheduled to run in the next I.M.A. Sprint event at Charlotte on May 20th.
The off weekend of May 5th seemed long to the 2FBR crew, but we adopted a 4th truck, the #9 of Ray Scott. Through the week we helped him finish setting up his new truck, of which had to be replaced after a bad crash several weeks back. Ray is a great “old rookie” as Larry Ballard of the B52 miffed. It’s great to have Ray and his sponsors group with us.
Speaking of Ray we took the 9 truck down to Charlotte for practice on May 11th along with the 3 and 34 trucks. Had great practice sessions, and got the latest 2FBR racer in the seat of the 34 truck, Tammy St. John. She certainly liked the feel of the 34 and is not far off from making her first race appearance.
While at the track on Friday, Curt made it up to chat with “Just Jason” on his internet radio show, “The Tower of Power”. Jason has that oldies radio style voice and was a lot of fun to chat with. It was even mentioned that one night Jason may take the seat of the #34 thunder truck and Curt will call the race. Be sure to check Jason’s show out, http://www.charlottecountyracing.com/html/towerofpower.shtml
We gave Just Jason and Bobby Diehl one of our latest promotional items, a 2FBR cap compliments of FanciWork Embroidery. Both wore them in style. Speaking of style, FanciWork will soon be able to dress up your fire suits, the special thread and backing is on the way to ensure the integrity of your suit is not infringed upon after adding your logo, name, etc. Be sure to check them out at http://www.fanciworkembroidery.com Also check out the I.M.A. folks sporting their embroidered logo’s at their next event on May 20th.
Friday night May 11th and Saturday night May 12th saw yet another driver climb into the number 3 thunder truck. It was Charlotte County Motor Sport Park’s Bobby Diehl. Bobby did all right in the first of the twin twenties on Saturday night, finishing 6th. Curt Mays in the #34 finished 7th in both races as #11 James Bullard finished 9th in both. Mentioning 9, the 9 truck of Ray Scott ran in the second twin twenty finishing 6th. Robert St. John was set to start in the #3 truck for the second of the twin twenties but because of a blown intake gasket, didn’t get to race – still it sure was great to see him back on the race track in the seat of the #3.
The 3, 11, and 34 thunder trucks are still looking for a primary (drive-train) sponsor. Have a lot of room on them full size pickup hoods and the class they run in at Charlotte certainly seems to continue to grow as well as the fan base at the track. Promote your business and promote racing.
Steven Mays is set to go in the I.M.A. Sprint Kart race at Charlotte on May 20th, in the #34 2FBR Cadet Kart. Steven will practice the afternoon of May 16th. If you’ve never made one of the I.M.A. races at CCMP, give it a try and stop by and say hello to us. Steven's got some fine sponsors but also is always receptive to new prospects.
May 18th was a good practice night for the 2FBR Thunder Trucks at Charlotte. Tammy St. John is getting the hang of the 34 truck and will be making her first start real soon.
May 19th saw the 34 Thunder Truck and the #3 run at Charlotte. And we won't forget our adopted old man, Ray Scott in the 9 truck. A pre-race meeting with all the drivers in our "aggressive class" was another positive move by CCMP. A great race, clean but still rubbing and racing. The 34 truck driven by Curt Mays finished 9th, the 9 truck of Ray Scott finished 8th, and Robert St. John back after his suspension finished 5th. A great time and a great class of racing!
May 20th we were back at CCMP for the I.M.A. Sprint Kart races. A great day of racing and the #34 2FBR Cadet Kart was wheeled by Steven Mays to a 3rd place finish. Steven's third race and in the top three in every one thus far. Not bad for a 9yoa rookie in his first year of racing. Have to be sure to thank Sebastian and I.M.A. for the job they are doing with Steven and of course all of his super sponsors. As the Kart sponsors grow a trailer will be purchased and we'll be off to other W.K.A. events in Florida and maybe a race or two in other Southern States.
The up coming weekend should be back to CCMP with all four of the 2FBR Thunder Trucks running. Hope to see y'all there!
May 26th was a planned full Thunder Truck Team race at Charlotte, yet the only one running Saturday night was the old man, Ray Scott. Other trucks and drivers stayed parked due to various issues, but thankfully none was mechanical. At a busy night at Charlotte, Ray finished 8th in the Thunder Truck race.
Steven Mays is set for a practice at Charlotte this week in the #34 Cadet Kart. His next planned race is July 1st at Charlotte, but we are considering a couple of other options for June racing including Immokalee and upon additional sponsors for the Cadet Kart, maybe even Indiana.
The Thunder Truck pack is planning to head to the track Sat June 2nd. Primary sponsors are still being sought for the #3, #34 and the #11 trucks. They're handling good, now it's time for drive trains to stay competitive.
If you’re interested in sponsorship for any of the 2FBR trucks or Kart, or all; send us an email and we'll be happy to discuss how we can promote your business or organization.
Racing at Charlotte was cancelled due to the storm on June 2nd, and even though we didn't get to race we certainly enjoyed the much needed rain.
June 9th look for the 11, 9 and 3 truck at Charlotte. The 34 will be back (maybe even with some more horsepower thanks to Reams Motors) on June 16th.
Steven Mays practiced his Kart last week and will no doubt practice some more before his next scheduled race on July 1st then again on July 22nd.
Thunder Truck racing at CCMP is being sponsored by Real Racin' USA. Check out our link page to get to them and listen to interviews and race news from about Florida.
Racing at Charlotte County Motorsports Park on June 16th was a bit wet to start, but the track staff juggled the schedule a bit and with the help of the back bone divisions got SW Florida's Friendliest Track dried out a race ready. A word of gratitude certainly goes out to CCMP for all they do and the continued improvements.
2FBR trucks at Charlotte on the 16th were the #3 driven by James Bullard, the #34 with Curt Mays at the wheel and of course the adopted "Old Rookie" Ray Scott in the #9. James finished 6th, Ray 8th, and Curt 9th in the 11 truck field for the evening.
Racing at Charlotte County Motorsports Park on June 23rd proved another fun night of racing. Only two of the 2 Fat Boys trucks were out, Robert St. John in the #3 and Curt Mays in the #34. St.John finished 6th with Mays right behind in 7th.
June 30th is an off night for the Real Racin USA Thunder Tucks. Time now for some minor repairs and still getting ready to add some horsepower to the #34.
Tuesday night we're off to the Snook River Grill in Bradenton for the Real Racin USA internet radio show. Be a good time to support the CCMP Thunder Truck sponsor, see what they are doing for the TT class, and have a little dinner at a great place. Y'all be sure to come out and say hi!
Steven Mays is ready to race. His scheduled at CCMP in the IMA sprint races are on July 1st then again on July 22nd.
June 30th was a weekend off for the Thunder Trucks. But the 34 Cadet Kart of Steven Mays hit CCMP on the 1st. Steven ran third for the IMA Sprint race event. He's looking forward to July 22nd for another IMA Sprint race at CCMP.
CCMP must have been a great show on the 30th. Arcadian Ricky Bullard got a first place finish in the Sportsman event. And can't forget Ann Marie Ricardi taking first in the Road Warrior event. Hats off to these two CCMP backbone division racers!
July 6th we hope to have all three regular Real Racin' USA Thunder Trucks at CCMP and of course our adopted Old Rookie, Ray Scott, being the fourth. Y'all be sure to come out and see us on Friday night. Hey there is also racing at CCMP on Saturday night and then again on Sunday with the IMA.
July 6th at Charlotte County Motorsports Park provided a great night of racing, but mechanical issues for the 2FBR team. The #11 of James Bullard had engine troubles causing him a 12th place finish and the #34 of Curt Mays had to surrender to a blown transmission for a 10th place finish. Ray Scott finished 9th in the #9 machine, but after a lot of bad luck we in the recent past Robert St. John drove hard to a 4th place finish in the #3.
For the fans that came out to support the Real Racin Thunder Trucks, we have to say thanks. In talking with folks from around the Sunshine State, seems CCMP is the only place to see stock trucks run. And much to the dismay of the new flag man Greg, we're certainly a hard driving class with plenty of action to keep the flag folk busy.
In Kart news, Steven Mays is set to race on July 22nd. Come out and see him run hard in the #34 cadet Kart at Charlotte, in the IMA event.
July 14th was another interesting night at Charlotte Co Motorsports Park. A great crowd was out and some great shows by all the classes. The track continues to improve its facilities and the racing is certainly trying to gleam as much as the fresh paint at the track.
In the Real Racin' USA Thunder Truck event, it was a rubbing and roughing from the start. The #3 of Robert St. John certainly seemed to draw the officials’ attention and was eventually DQ'd. In the DQ the track couldn't seem to make up their minds as to why initially, but last claimed that it was because St. John exited his vehicle as he leaving the track with a flat to pick up his tail gate which he noted he was told to do by the corner flag man. Following this the head flag man apologized to St. John for some of the calls against him (sent to the back on more than one occasion) and seemed willing to work with any and all racers. The officials aren't perfect, but nothing is. A call is a call and can't be taken back. St. John will race another day.
The other 2FBR trucks were Curt Mays in the #34 finishing 6th; Ray "The Old Rookie" Scott in the #9 truck finishing 7th; and James Bullard in the Shaver #18x finishing 11th.
In Kart news, Steven Mays is set for practice at CCMP with his IMA instructor on Wed July 18th. He's also set to race on July 22nd. Come out and see him run hard in the #34 cadet Kart at Charlotte, in the IMA event.
For the latest photos about the track be sure to check out the CCMP Photo Gallery link. Thanks to Karnac and CCMP we've got an additional venue to share our racing outing with you.
July 21st saw two 2FBR entries in the Thunder Truck Division. Ray Scott decided to sit out the race and Robert St. John drove the #9 truck to a 6th place finish. Curt Mays in the 34 truck finished 7th leaving the race early with mechanical problems.
The 21st also saw St. John enter the #3 2FBR truck in the Florida Outlaw Street Stock Division. Running the truck on slicks was a great time for ST John, who left the race early with a blown engine. He finished 13th.
Real Racin USA Thunder Truck Points as of 07/21/2007 Pos Car Driver Pts
The IMA Sprint race scheduled for July 22nd was cancelled by the race officials. The high probability of rain, was noted the reason. With this Steven Mays's next outing in the 2FBR #34 Cadet Kart will be August 26th at Charlotte County Motorsports Park.
August 4th saw several of the 2FBR team at the track at Charlotte. Another great night of racing and saw Curt Mays in the #34 truck finish 5th, Robert St. John in the #3 truck 6th, and Ray "The Old Rookie" Scott finished 7th. A special thanks goes out to Shawn the "Motorman" Reams for putting together a motor for the #3 tuck.
James Bullard of the #11 2FBR team has been out reference some personal issues but should be back to the track soon. Be sure to come out and see the 2FBR team run again at Charlotte during Aug 11th. Brad St. John is also due to participate in his dad's #3 truck very soon.
August 11th at CCMP started out as another great night of racing. James Bullard had the #11 truck back at the track ready to go as did the other 2FBR team members. Then, the rain came and it came hard....
Races on the 11th were cancelled and will be rescheduled for another date. Look for us to be back at CCMP on the 18th!
Real Racin USA Thunder Truck Points as of 08/04/2007 Pos Car Driver Pts
August 18th was a rain free outing at CCMP. The #11 truck was out and driven by Rob Shaver, the #34 of Curt Mays was there and the #9 of Ray Scott. Robert St. John and the #3 truck took the weekend off.
The 2FBR Real Racin USA Thunder Trucks finished during the August 18th race with Ray Scott in 6th, Rob Shaver in 7th, and Curt Mays in 9th who left the race early with mechanical issues (timing chain).
The current #3 truck of Robert St.John was sold as of 08/21/07, following this weekend's race we'll be adding motor to the #34 truck which Curt Mays will continue to drive in the Real Racing USA Thunder Trucks and St.John will drive the 34 in the Florida Suncoast Outlaw Street Stock class when they run. But another #3 is in the works.
Hope to see you all on the 25th at CCMP for Thunder Truck Racing and then on the 26th for IMA Kart Racing.
Mother nature won the race again at CCMP on August 25th. But we'll be back out thunder truckin again on the 1st.
The IMA sprint races had a great morning to run at CCMP on Aug 26th. Steven Mays finished 3rd in the Cadet Kart Division. At 9yoa, he's certainly learning to be consistent.
Real Racin USA Thunder Truck Points as of 08/18/2007 Pos Car Driver Pts
September 1st saw Thunder Truck racing early at CCMP. Good night of racing on a hot slick track. 2FBR Ray Scott finished 6th and Curt Mays finished 7th.
Thunder tuck racing is off the 8th but will be back at CCMP on Sept 15th. Hope to see y'all there!
Saturday the 15 of September was a great start of a night of racing at CCMP, then the rain came. The 2FBR #34 truck was the only team entry for the night. Look for us to run twin races on Sept 22nd, and hopefully have Ray Scott in the #9 truck back and maybe Robert St.John or James Bullard in the #3 truck.
You'll certainly want to be at CCMP on the 29th for Thunder Truck racing and the Hatfield/McCoy Race pitting the Thunder Trucks against the Road Warriors and Outlaw Street Stocks. Should be a hoot, and your 2FBR team will be there.

Saturday the 22nd of September looked like we were going to get a full night of racing in. In thunder trucks we got off the make-up race from the 15th where the #34 truck finished 4th. Then the rain came. The 2FBR #34 truck was the only team entry for the night. Look for us to run on Sept 29 and then Oct 6th in the Hatfield McCoy Race [pitting the Thunder Trucks against the Road Warriors and Outlaw Street Stocks]. Hopefully we'll have Ray Scott in the #9 truck back and maybe Robert St.John or James Bullard in the #3/11 truck.
Speaking of Ray Scott, we're certainly proud of his 3yoa grandson Jacob. Last week with the help of some kind sponsors, Jacob became the proud owner of his first Race Kart. He was out with Ray on Sunday the 23rd getting a few tips from Steven and the #34 Cadet Kart crew at the IMA event at CCMP. Be sure to check out his pics on the CCMP photo pages. Charlotte County Motorsports Park Photo Gallery both in his own folder and the 2FBR folder.
Also the 2FBR folks sure appreciate those that afforded Little Jacob a venue to grow and learn about racing.
Steven Mays had a great run on the 23rd at the IMA Kart races at CCMP. He finished second in the first heat and was battling for first in the second when he and the #88 Kart got together sending them both to a very wet infield. He finished 3rd in the second heat and then the rains came. Have to wait for the info from IMA to figure weather he or the #1 Kart scored 2nd in the final tally.
Saturday the 29th of September was a rather strange occurrence for the 2FBR Thunder Trucks; there were none at CCMP. Ray Scott's number 9 was still getting a little attention in the shop, the #34 sat idle as Curt traded his helmet for a guitar, Robert and James also had other engagements for the night. Sure was strange, but I think old Ray at least made to the track to watch the races.
Look for us back this weekend as Ray, Curt and Robert are planning on running. Curt and Robert will share the #34 that night with Curt in the seat for the Thunder Truck race and Robert taking out in the Hatfield/McCoy race. It ought to be a great time and if you haven't made it out to see us, October the 6ht be at CCMP; should be a great show.
Speaking of shows, in Karting we saw little 3yoa Jacob recently get a Kart sponsored to him. Interestingly enough George "Poot" Mays had put in his order thus another Kart has been added to the barn. The red #34 Kid Kart of Poot will be hitting the track soon - thanks John Lemieux you made us a good deal and another little boy very happy. Poor old Sebastian at IMA will have his work cut out for him again with another Mays.....
Also a big thanks goes out to our primary Kart Sponsor, thanks Arcadia Pawn. We now have a very nice trailer so the Karters will start venturing out - Immokalee, DeSoto, and other Florida sites.. Look out 2 Fatboys Racing will be in your town if you’re not careful...
Real Racin USA Thunder Truck Points as of 09/29/2007 Pos Trk# Driver Pts
Saturday October 6th the only 2FBR Real Racin USA Thunder Truck that made to CCMP was Ray Scott in the #9. Ray had a great time in the Hatfield/McCoy race and finished 6th. He also ran in the boat race, again enjoying every chance to get to race....
Saturday October 13th the #9 of Ray Scott and the #34 of Curt Mays made their way back to the track after some adjustments by the crew chief/mechanic, Robert St.John. Ray ran 5th in the race and the #34 was 6th.
Friday October 19th, Ray Scott was the only truck at CCMP. He finished 6th for the night. October 27th the thunder trucks are off, but look for Robert St. John back in the driver’s seat at CCMP on November 3rd, along with Scott and Mays.
Sunday the 28th we will be at CCMP for the IMA sprint races for our Kart program. Y’all be sure to get down and see us. While your there be sure to visit with one of our sponsors, Fanciwork Embroidery, and check out the IMA embroidered clothing line.
In the next couple of weeks we'll also be getting Poot and the #34 Kid Kart ready to race. As for the Kart program we also now have a trailer (thanks Arcadia Pawn) so Steven, Damion ("Poot"), and little Jacob will have a way to start traveling around next season...Look for us at your raceway soon....
The Thunder Trucks were off at CCMP on the Oct 27th, but we got to go racing on the 28th with the Karts. Steven Mays finished 3rd in the Cadet Karts.
We got the Kid Kart set up for Poot Mays, thanks Doug. Poot will be attending race school on November 4th with Sebastian and the International Motorsports Academy. Sebastian is super with the kids and we’re looking forward to getting Poot ready for the track.
Be sure to get out to Charlotte County Motorsports Park on November 3rd. Planning on three trucks being there to include Ray Scott, Robert St. John and Curt Mays.

November 3rd saw Robert St.John back at CCMP in the 10 truck owned by Rob Shaver. Robert started off strong, but ended early after loosing his radiator. Ray Scott really looked strong and finished 5th. Curt Mays started the pole and finished 9th the evening. He was penalized on a perceived bad call by CCMP officials after the #35 of Ray Jayne left the racing surface to go inside the 34 of Mays whom was holding his line as the 69 of Tom Pryor was on the outside. Jayne got into the drivers door of the 34 and caused the three trucks to spin. The call was to send Mays to the back….Oh well that’s racing!
Steven King also rode with the 2FBR team in the #11 truck for the evening. James Bullard was there too, helping him along. King finished 7th. |
